A few windfall quinces.....

While staying with my sister-in-law at the weekend she gave me the last remaining Quinces from her tree. She told me it was easy to make Quince Jelly, and voila...here it is, not much but so delicious and she was right, quite straightforward to make.

A Weekend in Hatfield....

Just got home after a couple of days in Hatfield. DS2 is starting University there , this will be his first year. DH and I helped him move in, we stayed with family who live nearby. The parting was so sad, I had promised myself I would not cry. Well, you can imagine that all went by the wayside, I cried...... and cried......

A Trip to Sheffield.....

I have just got home after spending a couple of days in Sheffield, DS1 has gone back to University and I had to help him move his stuff into his new pad. It is in a nice area of the town, quite near the Uni and shops. The flat is ok, a little basic, but for 4 boys sharing it will be fine.

A Bumper Crop of Beetroot......

Seems we can grow something at our allotment after all, despite the rabbits, birds, slugs etc. DH has been up there and picked a load of beetroot, sorry no photos. So, I did manage to make a few jars of Beetroot Chutney...

Reactions from the family, "yummy". Somehow, I don't think it will last very long.

First day of High School.....

Here is my youngest son aged 13, his fist day of high school today. I cannot believe how grown up he is.

Enjoying a bit of a stroll......

Our chickens have been well looked after by a friend and her children whilst we were away. I have missed them and here they are enjoying a good old scratch in the garden .
