Sunday Musings.........

Do you ever get the urge to do some baking, I do.  Sunday morning , I decided to bake some cakes for the family,  Peanut Butter Slice.  The middle layer is the Damson Jam which we made last autumn.  I am not allowed any as I am still trying to battle the bulge but I am told they are delicious.

My sister's wedding day is getting closer and I have now finished the bag I promised to make for my 6 year old niece, who is going to be a flower girl.  It is made with a plain base fabric, and I have applied layers of net, organza and old lace.  A few little pearl beads and silk flowers. I hope she likes it

Happy Christmas........

As you can see we still have lots of snow here, these photographs were taken earlier today.
The good news no more forecast for the next few days, but more due later next week.

It looks so pretty doesn't it, I can relax for a few days with no early starts to work.

I have found the most wonderful recipe and I am calling them posh "Matchmakers", I made some and took them to work last week, they went down a storm, here are the steps and a link to the recipe   http://bradleykitchen.blogspot.com/search/label/chocolate
The kitchen will be filled with a wonderful smell and they make lovely gifts.
Give them a go, you will be so impressed.

Wishing you all a Happy and Peaceful Christmas.

Another weekend....

Another week has slipped by and the weekend is here again, it has been a busy old week, attending a day course on Monday, my main job and another temporary job. All in one week. This has left me with no time for crafting and blogging. Today is my youngest son's birthday, he is 15 and fortunately he is at that age where all he wants to do is go into town with his friends. While he was away enjoying his birthday treat at the cinema, DH and I wandered up to the allotment, more weeding and tidying. This is such a mammoth job, back breaking work. A little more progress, but still a long way to go......

We celebrated our sons birthday this evening with a meal at home, his choice Bang Bang Chicken, and I made a traditional Victoria Sponge Cake, filled with Wild Cherry Jam and whipped cream.

Woke up this morning to the smell of fresh bread.....

DH is continuing to make sourdough bread, he now has a constant mix of Leaven on the go. He can russel up a batch of bread with not too much effort. He was up at the crack of dawn, and had these buns ready for our breakfast. They were lovely and very nice served with butter and homemade Blackberry Jam.

I am off to the Alnwick Spring Show this afternoon, and looking forward to it. Then onto a very nice Pub by the sea for Supper to celebrate Ds2 Birthday. Have a great weekend and enjoy the fab weather.
