My little hens are under the weather and so am I. Firstly, the hens are going through their yearly moult, they have shed lots more feathers than previous years and have been off their food. Consequentely, they have lost weight and look so scrawny. We have been giving them lots of tasty treats, and they are slowly showing signs of perking up.
I have also been under the weather; about 3 weeks ago I suddenly started feeling really dizzy, and after a visit to the Doctor and Hospital I have been diagnosed with Labrynthitis. It is an inner ear disorder which affects balance and vision. It is a really horrible condition and very debilitating. It is like having severe car or sea sickness all the time. Recovery is slow, I hope and pray I get back to normal soon. I'll be back when I'm feeling better.

Oh dear! I have heard how horrible this thing is - hoping you recover quickly. x
Sorry to hear that Denise, the same thing happened to my Mam recently and took about three to four weeks to get over. We have recently raised a few hens from chicks (my brother has). Although I love them they are a real pain for encouraging RATS! I went to feed the horse recently and out popped five of the blighters. They had the cheeck to feed from the hens trough. This has entertained the boys no end - Rat Watch. I wont give you any more details!!! Get well soon, love Helen xxx
I hope you are feeling better soon, it sounds like a really miserable illness. hope the hens are happier too, we have a poorly one at the moment, I have been trying to feed her up but the others keep stealing her treats....
