Halloween.....

The weather has been awful today, raining and lashing winds. DS3 is off to do his performance at Alnwick Gardens, there is a special event on for Halloween and they are expecting lots of children to attend. Here he is as the Joker from the latest Batman film , hope he dosen't scare too many children.

DH and I have been to see Beth Rowley at the Sage in Gateshead, a great venue. We had very good seats and she was fantastic. You can find her here at http://www.bethrowley.com/ she is well worth a listen.

Half Term....

DH and I have been working at the beginning of the week, but have now managed to have a few days off together now. Today we went to Whitby for the day, home to Bram Stoker's Dracula. It is years since we were last here and we had forgotten it was a goth town. It was teaming with goths, especially as we are so close to Halloween, there must have been something on. We took a lovely stroll up the hill to the Abbey, the view from the top was great.

We called on some friends in Scarborough for afternoon tea, it was lovely to see them and catch up as it is a couple of years since we last got together. The photo below is as promised to let you see our chicken house...

Practice for Halloween....

DS3 has joined the Juggling Club at high school and is doing some performances at Alnwick Gardens, here he is all dressed. They are doing a day time session and are testing out their act for the real thing on Halloween night. I think he looks pretty impressive considering it took us half and hour to make.

Fashion and Embroidery Show...

Took my annual trip down to Harrogate for the Fashion and Embroidery Show. It is held at The Yorkshire Showground and it is one of the best shows in the country for Textile Artists. I always look forward to my day out as I know I will come home with lots of ideas and inspiration.

Goodies from the show

And of course some new books

A few windfall quinces.....

While staying with my sister-in-law at the weekend she gave me the last remaining Quinces from her tree. She told me it was easy to make Quince Jelly, and voila...here it is, not much but so delicious and she was right, quite straightforward to make.
