Mooching Along...........

This new book from Jan Messent is just lovely. It has been keeping me occupied a lot recently.

Have you ever had days when you feel you are getting nowhere. I am trying to think what I have been up to since I last posted, and the answer is not very much. Am I just mooching along I ask myself. My summer bunting is moving at a snails pace too. I must get a move on, as summer will be over before its finished.


The garden is starting to fill with colour again after the spring bulbs have finally finished flowering, I always seem to have a month with no colour until the summer blooms burst forth.

A New Book......

Book buying is one of my weaknesses and I have been a bit restrained on that front of late, until this book caught my eye............

It is very feminine and girly, lots of flowers and fine wispy things. It is based on the authors inspirations, looking at her Natural World creations. Some lovely designs

and a free sample pack containing sequins,beads and foils.

I have started a small project which can be done while watching TV in the evenings. Can you guess what I am making!

Flowers and Candy......

Anemones are one of my favorite spring flowers, they remind me of my eldest son, my other half brought a large bunch of these flowers into the hospital when he was born, it was February 1989, nearly 21 years ago. Can't believe my little boy is coming up to this age.

I have been a bit restrained on the book buying front of late but this week I have succumbed and bought two lovely sewing books, one by Poppy Treffey, I just love her work and was very impressed when I visited her stand at the 2009 Christmas Country Living Show. The other one is a Japanese Book, showing 120 designs to stitch. Like all books from Japan it is written in Japanese but luckily they have very good diagrams/instructions to follow, so hopefully I will manage.

My other indulgence buy was a book on cupcakes, from the famous http://www.primrosebakery.org.uk/ in Primrose Hill London.

No relation.

I just love looking at the luscious pictures, real eye candy. I am looking forward to trying some of these recipes out.

And finally some treats of my own, Last Friday's Treats in fact (22nd January) which are still sitting in my fridge, I forgot to take them into work. Everyone was dissapointed, sorry folks. Such a fool, can I blame my age on this one!!!! Hope I remember to take them next week.

This arrived in the post today a new book from the Textile Guru Maggie Grey. I will have to try and find some time to sit and have a good read of it.

Bedtime Reading, Listening to..

I have never been a big reader but have started to get into chic lits I know they are not everybodies cup of tea, but its light reading before bed time and it make a change from textile or embroidery books.

I discovered this band while in London last week, it was playing in a gallery I visited, so I had to ask the owner who the group was...
