Going away for a couple of days, firstly spending two nights with DS2 in London, whilst there I am off to http://www.countrylivingfair.com/Spring and I am sooo excited.
On the way back home I am off the the NEC in Birmingham to www.ichf.co.uk/fashion, this event is usually held in Harrogate, in October, but this is the 21st year for this show so they have moved it to a bigger venue, can't wait for this show too. I'll be back next week to show you all my purchases.

Thinking of Summer.......
Our trip to the garden centre yesterday was very enjoyable, we went to a one a bit further away and it was so lovely visiting what I call a proper "Garden Centre" like they used to be years ago. These days I find they are more like department stores selling everything, but not much in the plant and seed line. This year I have decided to grow lots of tall flowers for cutting, to bring into the house. I spend so much money on cut flowers at the supermarkets and florists over the year. In order to achieve this I think I need a bit of help propagating all the seeds,so I treat myself to an electric propagator. This will hopefully speed up the process.
The seeds are all planted and I now just have to be patient and watch for the tiny little shoots to pop up. Exciting!!!! I shall keep you posted on their progress.

Mothering Sunday.......
Wishing you a Happy Mother's Day, I hope you all had lovely day.
We took off early to a nearby garden centre for morning coffee and delicious home made cakes. We bought a few purchases for the gardening season, which I will post at a later time. Before I go some lovely eye candy for you. Since our trip to Paris I have been wanting to make some Macaroons, they are taking the shops by storm. To my delight I got my eyes on this magazine at the supermarket recently,so last night I had a go at making them.Ta dah......the results,
They are made with ground almonds, egg whites and lots of icing and caster sugar, which when cooked are sandwiched together with a butter cream filling. I find them very sweet and half a one is enough. Not for the calorie conscious!

Back to Normal......
Hello there... I have had a couple of weeks off work and we have been away. The first week was spent skiing in the French Alps in a small town called Embrum. The nearest slopes a 15minute drive away to .....Les Orrs a smallish family, friendly resort.
The boys were in their element, I myself find it so exhausting and need to take my time.

. The boys are now very good at Snowboarding.
Scattered over the mountain were some fabulous ice sculptures, they are so intricate. Not such a good photograph, but I hope you will get the gist.
We ended the holiday, taking the train to Paris ,where we spent a couple of days sightseeing.
This is the ceiling of the department store in the Galleries Lafayette, beautiful isn't it.
We patiently queued for 2 hours to take the elevator to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
The view from the middle station, you can see for miles.

Notre Dame, we were lucky to witness a service being held there.
Our final week was spent at home, catching up with bits and bobs. We managed to buy a load of Seville Oranges and Blueberries. Several hours later we have a good stash of Jam and Marmalade for the coming months.
