A must see film............

I have been meaning to sing the praises of this film for the past few weeks, DH and I took ourselves of the the movies a couple of weekends ago. We went to the tea-time showing of this movie and it was fantastic. It so deserves all the awards it has been wining. Good luck next Sunday at the Oscars, I shall be watching with bated breath. Go see it, this is the best film I have seen in years.

One year old today.......

Today I have been blogging for a year. When I started this journey I was not sure what I wanted from this blog. It has turned out a bit different to what I had imagined, as my idea was originally to publish my art and creative work, but since I do not produce very much these days it has become the little happening in my life, family life, chickens, cooking and gardening. With the occasional holiday thrown in. Although I have not been a constant blogger, I do enjoy the process and have learnt lots from it. My aim now is to try and carry on, blogging more frequently. I know a few chosen friends read it, but I need to spread my blogging wings and let you know out there, that I am here. It is all a matter of confidence, something I need to address. Please stick with me and hopefully I will grow.

New things in the Primrose Household.....

A new sideboard arrived today, I have had this on order for about 3 months. It is oak and has been shipped for somewhere in Europe. Filled now with china and glasses, much needed space in my cluttered life.

Another addition are the new doors leading to our conservatory. We have been without anything here for about a year now. Our original plan was to take down the horrible UPVC sliding patio doors and have a much more open plan living space. Fine in the summer but absolutely freezing in the winter. This has dragged on for far too long. Not being able to decide what to replace the doors with, finally, we have made a choice and gone for solid wood/double glazed doors. The transformation is wonderful, they look good and blend in with the rest of the decor, and the best part is the warmth in the kitchen/dining room. It is almost tropical.......

Up date on our Chickens......

We are having a very cold winter, and one of my worries has been for our chickens. I have been fearful that they would come down with bronchitis, apparently quite common and would not survive. I am also concerned for Jill as she has "scaly red mite" on her feet and it is getting worse. I have bought this book and done some research on the Internet and it suggests the best cure is to plaster Vaseline all over their feet, which suffocates the mites. Today we started the treatment and will have to re-apply once a week for about 3 weeks.

We have lots of the white stuff............

It started snowing this morning, quite heavy flurries. We had to cancelled our Embroiderer's Guild Meeting this afternoon. Not sure if many folks would have turned up when it is like this.

I have the whole house to myself as DH and DS3 have gone up to Aviemore to get some skiing/snowboarding in. Time to snuggle up and catch up with my magazines.

February, February.....

Hello again blogger. Where has the month of January 2009 gone. This has been the quickest month ever. I am so pleased to close the door on it, as it has been quite a busy and stressful time. I am very down and have developed a big time sleep disorder, I am waking several times a night, and cannot get back to sleep. I have resorted to buying this book in an effort to try and help.

No results at the moment, but it is an interesting read .
