It's summer I think..............

The weather here today is glorious, it feels like summer is here. I don't want to say it too loud as you know it could be the "kiss of death", and we could be back to sub zero temperatures in a couple of days. If the weather forecast is to be believed we are in for a hot snatch....fingers crossed.

Today I was meant to be somewhere but it was cancelled at the last minute so an unexpected day at home. I have been trying to get some studying done, but it has been difficult as you can imagine, the lure of sitting in the sunshine doing a bit of hooking in my comfy new chair. It's now late afternoon so I better get off and try to put a few words onto paper, I am writing a 2500 word reflective commentary in relation to a current Nursing Practice. I am attending a Ear, Nose and Throat/Head and Neck Cancer Management Course which when completed and if I pass will give me 20 credits towards a degree in Practice Management. Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts......

More about the jumbled letters .........

They will eventually become........
Primrose Patch :: Summer Bunting
I hope you can see a bit more detail on the lettering, I am stitching each letter in co-ordinating coloured embroidery threads. When they are finished I will applique them onto fabric triangles. Not sure at the moment what fabric to use. The idea came from something similar we did for the guild last year. It is such an easy project and it looks very effective. I made a name quilt for my niece's birthday last year using a similar method.

A New Book......

Book buying is one of my weaknesses and I have been a bit restrained on that front of late, until this book caught my eye............

It is very feminine and girly, lots of flowers and fine wispy things. It is based on the authors inspirations, looking at her Natural World creations. Some lovely designs
and a free sample pack containing sequins,beads and foils.
I have started a small project which can be done while watching TV in the evenings. Can you guess what I am making!

He's Finished................

It has taken a few weeks but William is now finished. He is definitely a one off and I am quite pleased with the final results. His proportions are a little strange and I am not sure if it is me or the pattern. I followed it precisely but I think his arms are a little too long, I am thinking it all adds to his charm and uniqueness.......what do you think?

Here he is, sporting a hand knitted jumper.

I have really enjoyed the process of making him, this being my first attempt I would be keen to make another one using my own design. I shall have to put it on my to do list...........sometime in the future, me thinks.
